The El Bandido Maestro is a dual-wall, fully insulated coal maker designed to accompany The Director direct-over-coal cooker.
Built to create a steady supply of clean, consistent cooking coals, The Maestro burns full wood splits in its upper fire chamber. As the wood burns down, finished coals fall through a heavy bar-grate system into the collection area below — ready to be transferred directly beneath the cook.
The result is a purpose-built coal management system that allows the cook to continuously feed The Director with properly developed coals while maintaining greater control over heat, color, and the pace of the cook.
